Carole Marie (McCullough) Pyle
Carole Marie (McCullough) Pyle, 81, of Shawnee, Kansas, met her Savior, Jesus Christ on May 11, 2019. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, April 3, 1938, to George and Fay McCullough. She was an only child, preceded in death by a stillborn brother. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James (Jim) R. Pyle.
Carole is survived by her daughter Wendy Denham and her husband Steve, her son Brian and his wife Cheryl, four granddaughters: Kelsey Benskin and her husband Brice, Sydney Denham, Sarah Pyle and Amelia Pyle. Also a great granddaughter, Emery Marie Benskin. Carole is also survived by a brother-in-law Dwain Pyle and his wife Carolyn, and many nieces and nephews.
Carole was a caregiver who lost her dad at the tender age of 19 and as an only child was left to care for her mother who was incapacitated to some degree until her passing at 85 yrs old. During this time she married Dad and took care of him and the business side, and even some of the heavy work involved, of starting up and successfully running Modern-Air Cooling & Heating. She raised Wendy and Brian in the most loving fashion a mother possibly could, babysat her oldest granddaughters, Kelsey and Sydney, for the first two years of each of their lives because she knew outside of their own mother, there was no-one better to care for her first grandchildren; and then before we knew it, it seems she turned into a full-time caregiver to Jim for nearly 13 years as he declined with Alzheimer’s, during which time she whipped breast cancer and still helped her kids when she didn’t have to. She prayed for her family every single day and lifted each one up even more when they encountered struggles, as Wendy did when diagnosed with breast cancer too. She always had an ear, good advice and sympathy for anyone needing it. Carole’s favorite things to do were camping and bowling. She’s at peace now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and free of the lung issues, heart issues and the aches that come with aging and is finally reunited with Jim, her dad and mom and other loved ones gone before. Mom’s are one of God’s greatest gifts!
Visitation: Cross Points Church 6824 Lackman Road in Shawnee on Friday May 17, 2019 5-7pm. Memorial service immediately following.
