Devin Tyler Jipping

in-loving-memory

If loving you was enough to keep you with us, you would have lived forever. Our loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, Devin Tyler Jipping of Olathe passed away suddenly on Friday, June 5th, 2020.

Devin was survived by his father and stepmother, Kevin and Sarah Jipping, his brothers Grayson Jipping and Weston Madden, his mother, Jenny Freeman, as well as his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Devin was preceded in death by his friend and grandmother, Renita Freeman.

Devin was born November 3, 1999 in Lawrence, Kansas. Devin grew up in Olathe, and often visited his grandparents, Jerry and Kelly Freeman, in Goodland, Kansas where he spent his time doing what he loved – fishing and camping. Devin graduated high school in 2018 from Goodland High School where he played baseball, basketball, and football. He was also a devoted Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan who celebrated their World Series and Super Bowl wins and was so excited to meet “Marlins Man” while at a Royals game.

Although only 20 years young at the time of his death, we lost a shining light in our lives. Devin had a contagious energy about him that even meeting him just once, you would always remember him for his heart of gold and his goofy sense of humor. Whether it was his laugh, his smile, his big hugs or his generosity and willingness to always help others Devin brought so much love, laughter and joy into our lives and will forever stay with us through these wonderful memories.

Service

A Memorial Service for Devin will be held Friday, June 26th at 3pm at Faith Chapel, 15000 Newton Drive, Overland Park, Kansas.

“There are no goodbyes. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.”

Devin was a good friend to my daughter, Hannah. He helped celebrate her birthday, quarantine-style in our front yard, and she loved going to hang out at “the Devins’” apartment with their little group. This is heartbreaking for all of his family and friends. You all are in my prayers.
