Donald S. Andrade (Donaldo Seijas Andrade) lost his fight with cancer on February 12, 2019. Don was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 11, 1927, son of Julio and Mable Andrade. He grew up in Birmingham, Michigan with his brother, Richard (deceased), Sister, Violetta, and fraternal twin, Doris (deceased). His father was a well-known auto designer so Don grew up in the world of the Detroit Auto Industry. He attended Alma College and transferred to the University of Michigan, getting a Chemistry degree. He was a true Blue fan looking at an U of M basketball game a week before his death. 

Don was a Chemist who worked at paint companies in Maryland, Cleveland and Kansas City. He started his own company, DSA Consulting Inc., where he developed his own paint formulation software and sold his software packages in Europe and U.S.A.
He was a man of may interests and knowledge; namely, history, politics, science, math, arts, and music. He built a greenhouse early in his marriage and had many orchids in his retirement years. He was very concerned about Climate Change, so concerned he put solar panels on his home. He loved his wife very much and they were soul mates in a wonderful marriage. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanne (Portz) Andrade, son Stephen Andrade,son Christopher Andrade and his wife Amy, his sister Violetta Aldridge, and his wonderful grandchildren Kate, Alexander, Allyson, and William.

Service:

A celebration of his life will be held on March 2nd, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Kansas City United Church of Christ, 205 W. 65th St., Kansas City, KS 64113
