Enora “Itsy” Lauma Luss Finch
Enora “Itsy” Lauma Luss Finch was born in Frankfurt Germany to Eduard and Aina Luss on Dec. 9, 1945. The family immigrated to the United States in 1947 and eventually settled in Independence, Missouri where Itsy graduated from William Chrisman high school. While her career path lead her to work for Marathon Oil, Rival Company, and Gear for Sports (from where she retired), her hobbies gave voice to her creative side. For many years she created beautiful ceramics that adorned her home. She also enjoyed amateur photography.
In 1982 she married Melvin D. Finch. They were long-time members of Terrace Lake United Methodist Church. Together they shared a love of MG cars and were very active in the MG club in Kansas City. After they had both retired, Itsy and Mel enjoyed traveling regionally with the MG club as well as memorable trips to Alaska, England, and China with Mel, and to Latvia with her brother Gerold to visit her family’s homeland.
Itsy was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her brother Gerold Luss and his wife Gunda, niece Daina Amborn, nephew Eduard Luss and his family, step-sons Bradley Finch and Douglas Finch, Doug’s wife Ping Zhu and her son Song who Itsy was proud to call grandson, and former daughter-in-law Jennifer Finch.
Itsy had a kind soul, a quick smile, and easy laughter. She will be missed by all who knew her.
