James Tylar Phipps

Mr. James Tylar Phipps, 56, passed away, November 6, 2019, from the loving hands at the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City Missouri. Cremation Services were carefully held at the Cremation Center of Kansas City. 

He was a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.  He was the son of Charles James Phipps of Baltimore MD and Judith Ann Phipps of Olathe, Kansas.  He is survived by his father, step-mother, Bonnie Phipps of Baltimore MD, sister, Shelley Ann Phipps of Olathe Kansas, and two nieces, Jessica Taylor Erickson (United States Coast Guard) of Bremerton Washington, and, Hallie Hunter Erickson of Olathe Kansas. 

He was preceded in death by his mother this year in March.  Ty was born in Missouri on September 1st 1963. When young, Ty loved to fish, hunt, skateboard, and play the drums. As an adult Ty enjoyed playing his drums, Frisbee golf, shooting range, photography and going to Mexico to help build solar power hot water for homes.

He was a graduate from West Georgia College with a BBA.  He graduated from DeKalb School of Radiologic Technology and was current in status as of death.   He completed two Associate degrees from Johnson County Community College in Solar Technologies and Electrical Technologies.  Ty often stated his life was spared 7 years ago when he became a member of Alcoholic Anonymous and gave credit to the program for his sobriety of 7 years.  He will be greatly missed.
