Kimberly Ronae (Dialoiso) Huffaker

Huffaker, Kimberly

On Tuesday March 12, 2019, Kimberly Ronae [Dialoiso] Huffaker lost her 9 ½ year battle with Colon Cancer. Kimberly was a fighter, but most importantly, a loving mother, spouse, aunt, niece, best friend and soon to be first-time grandmother. Kimberly married her husband, Rex V Huffaker [Centerville, UT] on November 20, 1993. Kimberly is survived by her husband, Rev V Huffaker; daughter, Sara E [Huffaker] Horner [husband Brody, daughter Emery, and unborn son Koehn] of Osceola, MO; son, Kyle D Huffaker [Overland Park, KS] and daughter, Tory M Huffaker [Overland Park, KS]. Survived also by her father, Anthony Dominik Dialoiso [Verona, PA]; mother, Patricia Ann [Ryken] Matlock [Climax Springs, MO]; brother, Todd Dialoiso [wife, Tina] of Blue Springs, MO; and nephews Joseph and Jacob Dialoiso [children with Lola Dialoiso].

During her lifetime Kimberly worked as clerical assistant for a local insurance company, a school Crossing Guard for the City of Overland Park and lunchroom lady for the Blue Valley School District at Harmony Elementary School. Most importantly, Kimberly will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, teacher, caregiver and friend to so many.

Kimberly was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Olathe Stake congregation.

Kimberly’s wish was cremation. There will be a funeral service for Kimberly conducted by her church family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a gift can be made to Olathe Health Charitable Foundation in memory of Kimberly.

I got to know Kimberly when we were both working as school crossing guards and contributors toward “The Guardian” periodical for the City of Overland Park. She was such a trooper in her brave fight against this horrible disease! Always smiling with a positive attitude, even when she wasn’t feeling well from the treatments. My deepest condolences go out to all her family and friends. May the special memories you all shared with Kimberly help to comfort you always…

Six months ago I received a phone call that changed my life forever! My sister called to tell me that her friend’s daughter was coming to Houston for treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Since I live in Houston, and I’m a cancer survivor myself, having been treated at MD Anderson, she thought I might be able to assist Pat’s daughter in some small way.

I reached out to a total stranger named Kimberly, never realizing that she would become a truly beloved friend, whom I would adore like my own sister!

Over those six months, Kimberly made several trips to Houston. We spent countless hours and many miles crisscrossing the MD Anderson Campus, getting to know each other, sharing life and family stories and forming a bond of loving friendship. Even though I hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting Rex and the kids, the way Kimberly spoke about them, I felt like I’d known the family forever! Every time Kimberly headed home, we never said goodbye, we always just hugged and said “see you soon!” I so looked forward to my (new) dear friend returning to Houston, to see her beautiful, shining face, the love in her heart, and the fight and strength in her soul! Spending time with Kimberly gave me such joy and purpose in my own life! I hope that she cherished the bond of the friendship we developed, in such a short time, as much as I did.

My sincerest condolences to Rex, Sara, Kyle and Tory! I pray that your many precious memories of your wife/mother will help to ease the tremendous pain of your loss!

I will be eternally grateful that you came into my life Kimberly Huffaker and allowed me to be a part of yours. You will always hold a special place in my heart and I pray you Rest In Peace now that you are free from pain!

Until we meet again my beautiful sweet friend, I love you and… I’ll see you soon!

I had the honor to be Kimberly’s boss as a school crossing guard for the city of Overland Park. She always had a smile on her face even when she was having treatments. She was at her post everyday, and the kids and parents loved to see her there, along with her dog. She was always in my thoughts and prayers as she fought this disease everyday. Rest in peace.

Kimberly is such a beautiful person inside and out! The greatest love and pride in her life were her children whom she loves with all of her heart and soul. She was so easy to love and a pleasure to be around even during her most painful moments. She is a strength and a great example of what it is to be Christ like to all who were lucky enough to know her. I will miss her so much! Much love and sympathy to her family! My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly at work. She always had a smile on her face and a nice thing to say to anyone and everyone. She has to be one of the strongest, most determined individuals I have ever met. She told me of her long fight and I was absolutely amazed at what a courageous, hard working, grab life by it’s throat and shake it person she was. My thoughts prayers and most sincere condolences go out to Kimberly’s family and friends. She always talked about her family and how much she loved you all and how proud she was of all of you. God bless.
