Marjorie Frances Barnes
Marjorie Frances Barnes was born in 1919 on a farm near Oskaloosa, KS. She died on January 20, 2019. She attended a one room school house and then graduated from Oskaloosa High School. She left for Kansas City as soon as the ink was dry on her diploma and attended a business college. She met her future husband, Karl Barnes in Kansas City. Karl served in WWII and Marjorie worked as Rosie the Riveter at Pratt & Whitney. Marjorie and Karl were the embodiment of The Greatest Generation.
After the war, they raised three children: Roger, Martha, and Alan. Marjorie later became a legal secretary and traveled extensively. She was a voracious reader, world traveler, and the ultimate cynic. She is preceded in death by her husband, Karl and son, Roger. She leaves behind her daughter, Martha (Mike) and son, Alan (Kathy) as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
