Mary Ann (Tremayne) Mook

Mary Ann (Tremayne) Mook, 78, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018.  She was born August 28, 1939, the oldest of 6 children of Catherine (O’Connor) and John D Tremayne in Gardner, KS.  She married Jerome (Jerry) Mook and 5 children were born to this union.  She was preceded in death by her son Jerome B Mook, Jr., her parents and her brothers Gerald and Robert Tremayne.  She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses Michelle (Amy) Mook, Elizabeth (Pete) Zishka, Jon Mook, Andrea (Joel) Zimmerman, 8 grandchildren; Jerome (Kara) Mook,  Jesse (Amanda) Mook, Connor and Colby Zishka, Jasmine and Brody Savage, Devyn and Kaenen Zimmerman and 11 great grandchildren.  Her brother Neil (Janice)Tremayne, sisters Kathleen (Chuck) Klassmeyer, Pam (Gary) Kappler, and her sister-in-law Kathy Tremayne. 

Mary Ann graduated from Shawnee Mission North and lived most of her life in Shawnee, Kansas.  She raised her children and later attended classes at Johnson County Community

College and graduated with her Associates Degree.  She worked for the Shawnee Police Department and retired after 20 years of service; a job she enjoyed as well as the many friendships she made there.

Mary Ann was very talented artist, and drew or sketched many family members, famous people, dogs and scenes/collages.  She won many ribbons at the county fair and one grand champion ribbon at the state fair in Hutchinson, KS for one of her sketches.  She took art classes from Lee Hammond and had her drawing of hands published in one of her books.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, decorating and spending time with her family and friends, she especially treasured time with her ya-ya’s (sisters) playing dominoes and sampling wine.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 3rd at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Gardner, KS from 2:30-4:00 PM with rosary recited at 4:00 PM.  Mass of the Christian burial will be Monday June 4th at 9:00am with graveside service following at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Humane Society of Greater KC, Wayside Waifs, or a charity of your choice.

Mary Ann was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will forever be in our heart.  Until we meet again sweet mums, we love you!!
