On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, in Kansas City, Missouri, Michael Eugene Bartholomees was called home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 71. Michael was born on October 29, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, but spent his childhood years south of the city in Bonne Terre. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from Central Methodist College in 1972, and later went on to obtain his Master of Music from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Mike had a passion for the outdoors and all things natural, especially bird watching and exploring. He was equally passionate about the University of Kansas basketball program. Mike was an active church member, an author, a mentor, a teacher, a spiritual leader and a musician, as well as a beloved father, grandfather and friend. He was always quick with a smile and a joke, but will be best remembered for his kind and compassionate spirit.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, George and Geraldyne Bartholomees, his older brother, G. Hugh Bartholomees, and his twin sister, Vicki Muniz. He is survived by his daughter, Anne (Tobias) Nettie, his son, Scott (Kristina) Bartholomees, and his 4 grandchildren.
