A celebration of life will be held for Richard Lee Bearde, 72, on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The celebration will be in Mission, Kansas in the lower level of Lucky Brewgrille.
Mr. Bearde passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 in the Kansas City VA Medical Center from Congestive Heart Failure and many other underlying health complications.
He was born on Monday, May 20, 1946 to the late Tracy J Bearde and the late Mary Polser Bearde. He attended Shawnee Mission North High School. He enlisted with the United States Navy in 1964 and served during the Vietnam War as a Boilerman Petty Officer 3rd Class. After he returned to Kansas from war, he married the love of his life and best friend, Beverly Chaney, in June of 1970.
He was a butcher by trade and had a lot of experience in the grocery business, eventually opening up his own store in the 1990’s. After retiring, he decided to return to his previous career and worked at the Hen House in Prairie Village, Kansas.
He loved his family and was an avid animal lover. He will be greatly missed by all that loved him.
He is survived by his daughter Stacy Bearde Crim and husband Ron of Overland Park, Kansas; son Michael Bearde and wife Jenna of Ottawa, Kansas; Grandchildren, Logan Boudreaux, Nicole Revels, James Revels, River Bearde’, and Denim Bearde’; Great-grandchildren, Sebastian Boudreaux, Rhiley Boudreaux, Ryker Boudreaux, and Royal Boudreaux; Brother, Gary Bearde and wife Emelie of New Iberia, Louisiana; Sister, Barbara Stelly and husband Edmond of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; nephew, James Bearde; nieces, Mary Romero and husband John, Heidi Romero and husband Trent; Great nieces Riley Romero, Chloe Romero, and Roxey Romero.
He was preceded in death by his father Tracy J Bearde of Rayne, Louisiana, his mother Mary Eileen Polser Bearde of Missouri, and beloved pet Maverick.
