Vern & his wife Esther were very dear friends. I always told Vern he was such a handsome man. I loved listening to his stories about farming as I grew up on a farm, too. He and his wonderful smile will be fondly missed. My condolences to his entire family.

Vern was a very sweet man who I came to know when he and Esther attended our church. He always had wonderful stories to tell and I remember him sharing his knowledge of farming at the church’s talent show. I felt very lucky that I got to see him in November when I took him over a cheesy chicken dish that the kids and youth had made at their cooking class at church, My own father passed away in August and my brief visit with Vern reminded me so much of him. I will remember him with great fondness. Prayers for you and your family. I will plan to attend the service in March. I actually live in De Soto, only a mile from the Zimmerman Barn.
