Van Natta

Wauneita Marjorie Van Natta, 90, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Born November 16, 1928 to Walter S. and Alfreda O. Kirsher (Beil).

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Byron K. Van Natta; one son, Mike P. Van Natta and wife Susan; three daughters , Rebecca A. Walker and husband, William, Nancy S. Obern, and Cynthia K. Tanner and husband Phillip. She had thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

Wauneita was a key punch operator, church secretary, and homemaker. She loved cooking, sewing, and gardening. Her passion was to teach piano to area children and youth. Through that she made many life-long friends.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister,  Donna, and son-in-law, John Osbern.

Above all, was her love and service for Christ. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

    Nita was a wonderful lady and a very good friend to me for many years. She will be missed.

    Nita was a wonderful woman and friend. She taught our daughter piano and attended grandparents day at the elementary school so my daughter would have someone there. I appreciated her so much and Van too! They have been wonderful Christian examples!
